A short documentary about Ontario’s short-lived, but transformational Basic Income Pilot
The idea of Basic Income has been gathering steam in Canada and around the world. But what does it mean for real people?
From 2017-2019, 4,000 people in Ontario, Canada received a Basic Income as part of that province’s first ever Basic Income Pilot.
A Human Picture’ shares the experiences of Jessie, Rhonda, Tessa and Tim, four individuals who received a basic income and saw their lives change in unexpected ways.
We are encouraging communities to use this film to help spark conversations about poverty, equality and whether a Basic Income can play a role in improving the well being of our society.
This film runs for less than twenty minutes, but can inspire important discussions in both small gatherings and at large venues.
UBI practitioners and event organizers are encouraged to guide audience members in considering topics such as impact, sustainability, critical considerations and more.
